This skiing district is made up of the cities of Dobbiaco and San Candido offering skiers more than 30 ski lifts and 50 km of track, for cross country skiing there are 200 km of track. In Dobbiaco the skiing slopes are not so numerous but they are very easy however the cross country tracks are exceptional. As a matter of fact there is a track conformed with FIS and every year the marathon of Cortina- Dobbiaco is held here. San Candido has some small ski lifts that depart in the direction of the Alpine skiing area: the first towards the Baranci Shelter, with a red and blue track; the second towards Monte Elmo. For cross country skiing there is a track of 60 km where each year the marathon of the Val Pusteria is held. Other winter sport worthwhile is Alpine skiing, snowboarder (feasible on the entire area), sledge, outings on horse drawn sledges, ice-skating and curling.
